Hi,

Approximately five to 30 minutes of sun exposure on the face, arms, legs, or back without sunscreen between 10 am and 3 pm at least twice per week usually leads to sufficient vitamin D synthesis.

Vitamin D supplements should be considered when the recommended dietary intake isn’t met by food alone. It’s important to encourage foods that contain vitamin D naturally or via fortification.

Since the risks of low vitamin D are well-known, parents should try and reverse the trend by getting their kids to drink their milk—or eat their fortified yogurt.

Continue giving vitamin D supplement before an evaluation by your GP.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
